
Italian cuisines are known worldwide and the Italians, themselves, are very much proud of their delectable and exquisite cuisines. Though
traditional food varies from the country's different regions, Italian dishes and cuisines share the same
traditional and distinct taste when it comes to food. When one travels in Italy, he/she should also observe the ways and means by which Italians have their meals.
Italians rarely eat breakfast at home. They usually had their coffee in restaurants and cafes for cappuccino or espresso on their way to work. Drinking coffee, for them, are considered a ritual. They had coffee not just during breakfast, but also during morning breaks, and lunch as well. And now that i mentioned lunch, Italians considered it to be the main meal of the day and they usually dine with their families (even if they're at the office). Italian lunch consists of two course. The first one should be the pasta. It should be noted, however, that pasta in Italy also follows regional variations. So if you plan to dine in different parts of Italy, also expect a variety of Pasta dishes. The second course, or the main dish, usually consists of fish, meat, salad and vegetables, followed by the dessert.
Furthermore, dinner is a light meal for the Italians. Commonly served for
evening meal are soup, salad, cheese, and fruit. Typical in large cities, however, that evening meals are the main meal for busy Italians, wherein family members will gather for dinner and talk.
